Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

1. Overview

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how 514PASS handles cancellations and refund requests for paid features — PASS purchases, Private Media unlocks, and LIVE tips — and, separately, how creator payout cancellations work. It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

514PASS is currently in beta and uses manual Interac e-Transfer and Bitcoin (on-chain) payment workflows — there is no automated card processing and no automated refund system. This Policy describes what actually happens today, not planned future features.

Nothing in this Policy limits any refund, cancellation, consumer-protection, or other right that cannot be excluded or waived under applicable law. See Section 17.

2. PASS Purchases and Other Paid Features

A creator's "PASS" is a paid, active-status unlock of that creator's PASS-only content on 514PASS. Purchasing a PASS gives you access to view that content for as long as your PASS remains active — it is not ownership of the content, and it does not transfer copyright or any other right in it to you.

A PASS currently gives one month of access from the date the payment is confirmed. It does not renew automatically and nothing is charged automatically, so there is no recurring subscription to cancel: when the month ends, access ends unless you purchase a new PASS.

The current Beta purchase flow works as follows:

  • you initiate a PASS purchase for a creator,
  • a pending payment and a pending PASS are created,
  • you send a manual Interac e-Transfer for the exact amount shown, including the payment reference provided, or send the exact Bitcoin amount shown and submit your transaction ID (TXID),
  • 514PASS manually verifies and matches the payment, and
  • your PASS becomes active only once the payment is confirmed — or the payment is rejected if it cannot be verified.

Private Media unlocks and LIVE tips follow the same manual flow: the photo or video unlocks, or the tip appears in the LIVE, only once the payment is confirmed.

Before a payment is confirmed, you can cancel it in 514PASS. Cancelling only closes the pending request — it does not recall an Interac e-Transfer or a Bitcoin transaction you have already sent. If you already sent funds and then cancelled, or if a payment you sent was rejected, contact us (Section 3).

We do not promise a specific payment-confirmation timeframe. Confirmation is manual and times can vary.

3. Pending Payments

If your payment has not yet been confirmed, was rejected, was sent with an incorrect payment reference or TXID, was sent for an incorrect amount, or cannot otherwise be matched to your pending purchase, contact us at [email protected].

We do not automatically treat every unmatched or unconfirmed transfer as a "refund" situation — in many cases the transfer simply needs to be located and matched to your purchase. To do that, we may need information reasonably necessary to locate and verify the transfer, such as the sender name, the amount and date sent, the e-Transfer reference number, or, for Bitcoin, the transaction ID.

For Bitcoin, sending less than the exact amount shown may delay or prevent confirmation. Bitcoin sent to the wrong address or on a network other than Bitcoin mainnet may be impossible to recover, and 514PASS cannot reverse a Bitcoin transaction.

We will never ask for your banking passwords, online banking login credentials, Interac security question answers, or your Bitcoin wallet's private keys or recovery phrase, and you should never send us this information.

4. Confirmed Payments and Refund Requests

514PASS does not currently operate an automated refund system for PASS, Private Media, or LIVE tip payments. If you believe you are owed a refund after your payment has been confirmed, you can submit a request to [email protected].

We will review refund requests manually, on a case-by-case basis. Submitting a request does not guarantee that a refund will be issued — we may review the circumstances and consider the factors described in Section 5 before deciding.

If a refund of a Bitcoin payment is granted, the refund method and amount — including how changes in the CAD/BTC rate and network fees are handled — will be determined case by case and communicated to you before the refund is sent. BTC Supporter points linked to a refunded payment may be corrected.

5. Situations We May Review

When reviewing a refund request, we will consider the circumstances, which can include:

  • whether the payment can be verified as coming from you,
  • whether the payment appears to be a duplicate of another payment you made,
  • whether the wrong amount was sent,
  • whether access to the creator's PASS-only content or Private Media was actually activated or provided, or whether a tip was actually shown in the LIVE,
  • technical issues on 514PASS that materially prevented you from accessing content you paid for,
  • suspected fraud or an unauthorized payment (see Section 7), and
  • other relevant circumstances and applicable law.

This list explains what we may look at — it does not guarantee that a refund will be issued in any particular situation.

6. Access to Digital Content

A PASS or a Private Media unlock provides access to a creator's digital content on 514PASS. Whether that access was already activated or provided to you may be a relevant factor when we review a refund request under Section 5. A LIVE tip is a voluntary payment to support a creator; it does not purchase content.

However, having accessed PASS-only content or Private Media, or having sent a tip, does not automatically eliminate every refund or cancellation right you may have. Mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected — see Section 17.

7. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments

If you believe you sent a duplicate Interac or Bitcoin payment, or sent the wrong amount, contact us at [email protected]. We will review the payment records available to us and consider the situation on a case-by-case basis.

8. Fraudulent or Unauthorized Payments

If you believe a payment was made on your behalf without your authorization, or that your Interac e-Transfer account or Bitcoin wallet was used fraudulently to pay on 514PASS, contact us at [email protected] as soon as possible.

We may need information reasonably necessary to investigate and verify the situation. As with any payment-related request, we will never ask for your banking passwords, online banking login credentials, or Interac security question answers.

9. Creator Earnings and Refund Adjustments

When a payment for a PASS, Private Media, or a LIVE tip is confirmed, 514PASS credits 80% of the confirmed amount to the creator's available earnings and retains a 20% platform commission, as described in our Terms of Service.

If a refund is issued for a confirmed payment, a corresponding accounting adjustment may be needed to reflect that the underlying transaction was refunded. 514PASS does not currently have an automated system that deducts a refund from a creator's other, unrelated earnings or payouts — where an adjustment is needed, we handle it manually on a case-by-case basis.

10. Creator Payout Cancellations

A creator payout cancellation is a different concept from a member PASS refund. A member refund concerns money a member paid for a PASS, Private Media, or a LIVE tip. A payout cancellation concerns a creator's own request to withdraw their available earnings — cancelling a payout returns reserved funds to the creator's 514PASS balance; it does not refund any member.

514PASS currently offers two payout speeds: Standard and Express. The cancellation rules differ between them, described below.

11. Standard Payout Cancellation

When a creator starts a Standard payout, the requested funds are reserved and a 72-hour waiting period begins, tracked on our servers.

While a Standard payout remains in this waiting state, the creator may cancel it. Cancelling releases the reserved funds back to the creator's available balance.

Once the 72-hour wait has elapsed and the creator clicks "Request transfer," the payout becomes actionable and can no longer be cancelled by the creator.

12. Express Payouts

Choosing Express bypasses the remaining Standard wait: an Express payout becomes actionable immediately, and the creator cannot cancel it once it is actionable.

An Express payout is usually processed within approximately 30 minutes of becoming actionable. This is a typical processing goal, not a guarantee — actual processing time can vary, and Express payouts are not instant.

13. Rejected Payouts

Once a payout is actionable, our admin team may reject it if necessary — for example, if the destination Interac information cannot be verified. Rejecting a payout releases the reserved funds back to the creator's available balance.

14. Completed Payouts

Once a payout has been marked paid, it is final from a payout-processing perspective.

15. Processing Times

We do not currently promise a specific refund-review or refund-processing timeframe. We aim to review refund requests within a reasonable time, but times can vary depending on the circumstances of each request.

For payouts, an Express payout is usually processed within approximately 30 minutes of becoming actionable, but this is a processing goal, not a guarantee.

16. How to Contact Us

For a pending or unmatched payment, a refund request, a duplicate or incorrect payment, or a suspected fraudulent or unauthorized payment, contact us at [email protected].

17. Mandatory Consumer Rights

514PASS currently operates from Québec, Canada. Nothing in this Policy limits or removes any refund, cancellation, consumer-protection, or other right you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded or waived by agreement, including under Québec or Canadian federal law. Where a provision of this Policy would conflict with such a mandatory right, the mandatory right applies.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time as 514PASS evolves. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and where a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to bring it to your attention within the platform.
